All of my school work flows together this semester. I am currently in Media Arts, Art, Exercise Science and Writers Craft. Before the skeleton project, I had already decided that I want to have a gothic theme in my sketchbook. The work in the rest of my classes inspire me. Exercise Science is basically about the human body. At the time in Writer's Craft, I was exploring the theme of horror. I was inspired to keep the human heart white because I did not want to mess up the work I had done and the white represents a cold heart. I did graphite transfer to create the heart, which is cut out and pasted onto a paper that is covered with black pastel.
This skull has also been done via graphite transfer and the background is black pastel that has been used as a gradient. The original image of the skull is a printout that my sister is using as a scratch board piece for her art class at Humber College. I found it convenient to use the image because I find it a very beautiful piece.
